About Paradise Alpaca Ranch

Don and Marilyn Downen started Paradise Alpaca Ranch in 2004 on a three plus-acre
farm located in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. We purchased our ranch from Marilyn’
s grandparents, as we both loved the area and the view, which keeps improving with our Alpacas grazing in the pastures. The Home place had been many things since the Beck family purchased it back around 1900, none more suited for the land then our Alpacas.
Our goal is to raise the finest Alpacas that we can. We plan on breeding to the highest
quality herdsires with the intentions of producing crias that have better confirmation and fleece than their parents. Our original purchase was for two yearling females of Peruvian descent, as we were getting ready for our new additions, an offer presented itself to purchase two more yearling females and two fiber males. So we started with four yearling females and two fiber males, more then we planned to start with, but we have never regretted our decision. We will keep up grading our operation, planning future breeding and planning for the new crias. We will continue to change and rearrange our goals and plans to meet the needs of our Alpacas. Above all we are enjoying our new lifestyle, we would like to invite you to visit our ranch, and see the beauty of this lifestyle.
Thank you for visiting our website and we hope you find it informative.
