Paradise Alpaca Ranch's Philosophy

Breeding and raising alpacas is a commitment to a completely new lifestyle.
A lifestyle, which is more, laid back and relaxing from the business world that we live and participate in daily. We have a strong desire and commitment to keep our herd size down to a number that we feel is manageable. With only three acres of pasture we feel that a comfortable herd size would be 8-12 breeding females and a herd sire or two. We like to spend time with our alpacas and be aware of their needs and wants, and we want to have a hands on approach to their show ring training. We have already grown to love the daily chores and peaceful lifestyle here on our ranch with our alpacas.
We have been, and are carefully researching and planning our breeding program for
the next couple of years as we have become more informed as to the quality of herd
sires available and off springs that they have been providing to other ranches. Our
goals in our breeding program are to improve the quality of our breeding stock and the
fleece that they are producing. We feel that the quality and quantity of fleece that our
herd will produce is one of the most important parts to our breeding program. We have
continued our education as to what we feel the Ideal Alpaca should be, and deciding what is important to the success of our ranch.
